They aren't just stars..
Stars might as well be the withered parts
That people lost
When their souls wept in grief,
Lonely in the small cramped corner,
Letting out a secret sorrow
That pervaded their heart,
Which people knew nothing about.
Or maybe the yellow leaves,
That they tried shaking,
From the bough of their heart
When they could no longer look
At the fractured image of themselves
And clinging on to what might have been,
Didn't surcease the pain.
That they tried shaking,
From the bough of their heart
When they could no longer look
At the fractured image of themselves
And clinging on to what might have been,
Didn't surcease the pain.
Or petals burning from the fire that descended from their chest
With every intermittent sob
That found its way down their heart
Overwhelmed with guilt.
With every intermittent sob
That found its way down their heart
Overwhelmed with guilt.
Silence fades softly
As I look at the dark sky
Be-speckled with burning lights.
A feeling envelops me like silken web
Enervating the strings
As I look at the dark sky
Be-speckled with burning lights.
A feeling envelops me like silken web
Enervating the strings
Of the mask I wear to the multitude.
Sheltered beneath the black silk
That never failed to keep my secrets
Like an unspoken cosmic rule
That never failed to keep my secrets
Like an unspoken cosmic rule
Stars now look like a mirror,
Reflecting the truth inside me.
I gaze at the stars with forlorn eyes
And the stars gaze back at me..
Reflecting the truth inside me.
I gaze at the stars with forlorn eyes
And the stars gaze back at me..
